THE TEAM

Sharon Major

Sharon has been with the practice since 1986, having qualified in 1985. She has worked in the NHS at St Thomas’ Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital/Western Eye Hospital. Her clinical interests include adult and paediatric squint, amblyopia, ocular motility disorders, visual field assessment and orthoptics for children with neurological or other systemic conditions and developmental delay.

Mariam Ayad

Mariam qualified as an orthoptist in 2006. She was worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Kings College Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has spent 11 years at Great Ormond Street Hospital and specialises in seeing children with amblyopia and ocular motility disorders as well as those experiencing double vision.

Adele Kincaid

Adele is joint Head of Orthoptics and Optometry at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. Adele qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Orthoptics in 1998. She has worked in the NHS since 1998 and in private practice since 2004. Her clinical interests are adult and paediatric squint & ocular motility disorders, paediatric amblyopia, visual stress and visual fields assessment. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council and a member of the British & Irish Orthoptic Society.

Mrs Sejal Morjaria BSc(Hons) Orthoptics

Mrs Morjaria is the joint Head Orthoptist and clinical tutor at Epsom and St Helier University Hospital NHS Trust. She graduated in 2000 from the university of Liverpool and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.As an Orthoptist she diagnoses and manages disorders of binocular vision. She specialises in assessing vision in babies and small children, paediatric amblyiopia, treating adults with diplopia (double vision), ocular motility disorders and visual field assessments.She works at Ashtead Hospital, The Warren, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2SB, 01372 221400.

Dr Dorothy Thompson is consultant electrophysiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Lynne Speedwell

Miss Lynne Speedwell is Senior Optometrist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, specialising in contact lenses for babies and children. She has worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital for over 20 years.
